Chemenergy Water Treatment, Inc. currently has an excellent opportunity for a Service & Sales Engineer within our Chemenergy Water Treatment team located and servicing in the Albany, NY area. You will be responsible for working with an existing Chemenergy Service/sales technician to help execute service work and sign on new customers. 

Training will begin on the first day of employment. You will work with a seasoned service and sales representative to learn more about performing various Chemenergy services for various customer bases. This position can lead to a career in sales. You will learn to develop customer skills, develop sales strategies, and work with teams to meet sales and service goals. This position will require you to build long-term relationships with existing customer bases by understanding why they work with Chemenergy, executing exceptional service to them, and selling new technologies and getting return business when contracts are due to be reinstated.

Main Responsibilities

• Support sales and service technicians in the handling of company service calls on existing customer accounts for system start-ups and existing HVAC water treatment systems. Assist in the correction of problems as appropriate.

• Provide routine servicing and support to existing customer bases and support our sales teams when new customer bases are added.

• Work closely with current customers in your defined territory to learn and understand business needs, and recommend continuous improvement of the customer's water treatment site/system. Work closely with boilers, cooling towers, closed loop and RO/NF systems to ensure energy efficient, and cost-saving water treatment services are in place for the customer.

• Train and learn proper site management strategies such as water testing, pump adjustment, solid water treatment system preventative maintenance, and other onsite customer services performed on a monthly/weekly basis.

• Generate and execute sales plans in new customer bases in new defined territories. Work with exisitng customer bases to drive word of mouth marketing in organic manner through 5 star customer service. Reach target % sales goals in time frame given.

• Provide technical support for customers. Identify and sold customer challenges.

• Engage in site testing and system analysis, interpret data and provide written recommendations to customers to ensure their operations are running as efficiently as possible.

• Actively sell and support Chemenergy innovations/technologies in your assigned territory.

• Coordinate and manage replacement parts programs with customer sites and other employees to ensure the availability of components as needed for customer repairs.

• Seek to keep abreast of the latest industry advances through continuous education.

• Assist in the preparation of reports detailing technical problems and solutions to initiate necessary corrective product modifications and/or recommended process changes. Document value provided to the customer whenever possible.

• Promptly reports every incident, accident, injury, or applicable near miss to supervisory personnel.

• Provide installation resource services on a project request basis necessary to satisfy the needs of the customer. Including field surveys, installation checklists, rollout support services, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma

• Willing to work in dirty conditions when needed, such as for the cleaning of a cooling tower.

• Extremely motivated and self-driven work ethic.

• Fast learner, able to operate under stressful conditions without sacrificing customer service quality.

• NYS Driver's License and acceptable Motor vehicle record

• An interest in HVAC equipment, and water treatment as well as chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering ( Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial ) or Life Sciences ( Biology, Chemistry, etc. )

• 3+ years of sales experience or customer service work

• Water treatment or chemical industry experience

• Large knowledge base of cooling towers, boilers and close loop systems

• History of working in a career that required self-motivation. You are able to hold yourself accountable for sales/service goals.

• Excellent communication / Organizational skills.

• Prior experience that demonstrates strong work ethic and an ability to organize efficiently.

This job requires a 6 month training period where new potential employees will be trained and paid for full-time training. At the end of 6 months, the work will be evaluated to determine possibility of putting the potential employee into a permanent full-time job role at Chemenergy.
