Pre-Boiler Corrosion

Pretreatment equipment, small leaks and other pre-boiler scenarios cause corrosive gases to be present in the MU water sent to  steam boiler systems for production/heating uses. Corrosive gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide must be chemically treated in order to be fully removed even after proper mechanical deaeration has taken place.

Pre-Boiler Corrosion Control

Overview:

Regardless of the source, water used for production processes will commonly be sent through pretreatment equipment to ensure proper MU water qualities are present. While it is not as common for commercial buildings to have the vast amount of pre-treatment equipment available and necessary to that of a production plant, it will still be present. Pre-treatment equipment introduces corrosive elements into the bulk MU water supply that will be used for steam boiler equipment.

For example mechanical deaeration systems used on common steam boiler systems will remove corrosive gases such as oxygen but only down to levels of 10 ppm minimums. All traces of oxygen should be eliminated completely to remove the possiblitlty of oxygen pitting, equipment downtime and damage to boiler system parts, coils, heat exchangers, pumps, separators and housing.

Chemenegery Pre-Boiler Corrosion Control

Chemenergy will ensure all pre-boiler corrosion is halted, treated and cured through Chemenergy's proprietary chemical dosing systems, forumalitons and product lines. Allowing corrosive gases and other corrosive pre-treatment equipment by-products to become non-corrosive by-products of chemical reactions.
